Day 10 - Saturday July 8th
Glasgow - Kelvingrove & Bus Tour
Weather: Sunny, cloudy with a chance of thunder later
I woke up early to a beautiful, still blue morning. I need to plan out the week so that we were all on the same page as to what we were going to do in Glasgow.
After breakfast we decided to go to Glasgow. The easiest place to park was at the Kelvin Grove Art Museum parking area.
The first thing we did was visit 23 Park Circus where I was born in 1944 -
From there we went to to Kelvin Grove Art Museum for lunch which was very nice -
The same plush red seats that Mary-Ann and I saw in 2018 were distributed for seating, but all occupied as we arrived just on time to hear the fist chord -
Ian was keen to go to the Glasgow Cathedral founded by St. Mungo, aka St. Kentigern,
The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Mungo, the patron saint of Glasgow, whose tomb lies at the centre of the building's Lower Church. The first stone cathedral was dedicated in 1136, in the presence of David I.[2] Fragments of this building have been found beneath the structure of the present cathedral, which was dedicated in 1197, although much of the present cathedral dates from a major rebuilding in the 13th century. Ref. Wikipedia
It certainly is a beautiful building.
They also climbed up to the nearby Necropolis while I sat and had a rest.
Time was getting on so we headed back to the car, but stopped for refreshments on the way
