Day 23 - Friday 21st July
Edinburgh - The Scottish Parliament
Weather: Sunny with cloudy spells
From the cafe I had a very long walk down to the end of the Royal Mile nearly to Holyrood House to find the Scottish Parliament building on the right - note the Ukrainian flag on the left -
It was quite scary seeing police with large automatic weapons and handguns at the ready. Luckily they didn't see me as a threat so I was able to walk in the public entrance, but I still had to go through a security check as though I was at an airport, before I could get into the building itself. No photographs allowed inside!
The parliament was not in session today otherwise I could have been an observer, but we did get a ten minute talk about the background to the building - "There shall be a Scottish parliament", from the Scotland Act 1998.
