Day 24 - Saturday 22nd July
Selkirk - Town Centre
Weather: Cloudy and then drizzly
Had a morning walk and then set off for Selkirk at about 9:30 am with some trepidation as I was going to have to get out of Edinburgh by myself and get used to the car.
Road closures meant that I had to do a circuit a couple of times before I eventually found the A68 out of Edinburgh. After that it was pretty plain sailing to the A7, except for one four lane roundabout with traffic lights. I gave one lady and myself a bit of a fright!
I got to Selkirk at about 11:00 am and parked the car (no charge) and went for a walk to find the Market Square. Hwere it is with the statue of Sir Walter Scott and his Court House Museum behind
Here is the inscription at the base of the statue -
... and the Visitor Centre at Halliwell's Museum ( No Visitor Centre anymore) -
