Day 9 - Friday 7th July
Getting to Carbeth Hiouse
Weather: Today it was wet but still warm
Although I got to bed at 1:00 am, I was awake at 4:00 am and got up at 4:30 - things on my mind. I made a cup of coffee and got dressed. At about 7:30 I tried to ring Ian - the phone rang through okay but Ian didn't answer so I sent him a text instead. He got back to me later and said he would pick me up at about 9:30 which he did in his nice blue rental Skoda
It was about an hour's drive back to Carbeth House along quite narrow winding roads. We stopped at Killearn to buy some groceries in an amazingly well stocked Co-op.
We set off again along the narrow winding roads which then became narrow one lane winding roads, and then became a narrow, winding muddy metal track full of potholes and rainwater , but at the end of all that there was Carbeth House and the family - a beautiful sight -
Carry on and there is my room -
Then if you go back out the front door this is the view -
In the evening we went out for a meal at the local pub "The Old Mill'
... and had a great meal -
Ian noticed that somebody had been "clever" with the inscription at the base
