Selkirk - The Haining Estate & Peel Hill Castle beside it

Weather:  Cloudy and then drizzly

The Haining Estate is accessed from the West Port Road out of Selkirk -

The entrance to this place gives some idea of what to expect -

There is a long drive up to the Building where the apartment is through another archway -

Here is where I parked the car and walked up to the entrance to the apartment -

... and up the stairs -

... and I was in!

The view the other way towards the loch is stunning -

... and closer up -

... and then looking back to my apartment up on the second floor -

... the two windows with the small panes of glass.

Up the stairs I found Apartment 2 -

... but looking back down the stairs is a bit intimidating -

When I opened the door I was in the passage -

... which led to the lounge, with socks drying on the heater, turned off -

... and then through to the kitchen -

...and eventually to the bedroom -
