Day 3 - Sunday 1st July - Meteorites and Human Origins

 Day 3 - Sunday 1st July

New York City - The Natural History Museum - Meteorites & Human Origins

Weather Hazy, but warm with not much wind

We had lunch.

After lunch we went to "Invisible Worlds" all about things too small for us to see.

To get to the Hall of Human Origins we walked through the hall where were displayed huge meteorites that had been found

Here is the information about its association with the Clackamas Indian Tribe who found it centuries ago

and last of all to Human Origins with plenty of lifelike displays of our ancestors at their daily routines.

Here is one couple just walking through the Museum just like the rest of us! I said "Hello!", but all I got in reply was a grunt!

... fighting off competition for food ...

...preparing skins for clothing

.. and bringing home the firewood to keep warm ...

Finally left here at about 2:00 pm, but we had only really scratched the surface. An amazing place!

On the way back to the car parking building, we stopped and got ice-creams at Emack and Bolio's - very good!
