 Day 11 - Sunday 9th July

Stirling Castle

Weather:  The weather started off cloudy and damp, but as the day wore on it improved to warm and sunny

We ste off at about 1/4 to 10:00 am as we had a booking for Stirling at 10:30. It was a nightmare driving through Stirling town as a number of roads were closed off, but we eventually got there.

We followed the kids around for a while into the King's Garden -

Next we went up to Wall Walk Passed the battery -

... and along the Wall Walk where we got some great views over the countryside -

 From there we decided to progress indoors through the entry from the courtyard -

and then progressed to the Palace chambers where we found a lady showing how to use flaxes to weave loose baskets -

... and Kai met the King's chief steward -

and then a gentleman playing a lute in one of the bedrooms -

The Great Hall itself had a beautiful roof -

... and at the far end we found Princes Emi and Prince Kai -

Time for lunch in the cafe -

As we walked out of the castle gate we got photographs taken under the statue of Robert the Bruce -

... in preparation for our next visit.- Bannockburn!
