Today we decided to walk up to the village to visit the cafe, take some photos and visit the craft shop, so off we went on foot -

It certainly is a picturesque place and quite prosperous looking. This road is -

This village used to be the meeting point of two highways so was the collection point for tolls. This house is a reminder of its history -

There are two big churches side by side in the village. Kirk One -

Then we headed off for lunch at The Kitchen Window added on the end of the church -

It was a nice modern cafe and with an amazing view out over the countryside -

The kids got a surprise when their meals arrived -

After lunch we took the kids down to the playground to run it off -

... and then walked home. Luckily it was downhill -
